how i work

I am an Integrative Counsellor, which means I combine Person-Centred, Cognitive, Existential, and Psychodynamic theories and tailor my approach to suit you and your needs.

I also work Relationally, which means I put the therapeutic relationship at the heart of the work.

I work flexibly, whether you prefer to work on a fixed-term basis (6, 12 or 20 sessions, for example) or open-ended, I can accommodate for your individual needs.

I offer sessions online or in person in a lovely room in central Lincoln.

I work with adults (18+) and occasionally work with Young People (14+).

About Me

'Ride the wave' has been my mantra since my university days in Brighton. I would go and sit by the sea and find solace in the ever-changing waves while my mental health went through its own stormy tides. Graduating with a degree in Drama and Film, I then went on to become a Primary School Teacher. When Lockdown hit, I decided to jump in at the deep end and train as a counsellor - something I've wanted to do since my first experience of therapy at age 15.

My logo is based on the wave tattoo I got in 2019, which is a daily reminder of how far I have come, and how many storms I have weathered and survived.

I was diagnosed as Autistic in 2022, and have been navigating having AuDHD since a missed ADHD diagnosis in 2023.

Services

Free Consultation

I offer a free 20 minute online consultation so we can discuss your goals for therapy, my availability, and you can ask me any questions you have about how I work.

If you decide to proceed, we will agree on the frequency of our sessions (weekly or fortnightly, for example) and whether you want your sessions to be open-ended or time-limited (6, 12 or 20 total sessions, for example).

sessions

Sessions last for 50 minutes, at the time and frequency agreed.

Payment should be made in advance if paying electronically, or at the start of the session if paying in cash.

cancellations

I operate on a 24 hour cancellation policy - any cancellations made less than 24 hours before the booked session will require full payment.

Waves
'I feel grateful for having the sessions, especially with an Autistic counsellor, as being Autistic myself, I felt more reassurance to my issues and understanding and having a support system out of my family. It felt comforting to have someone more specialised in dealing with people’s mental health and problems. Holly was very sweet, understanding and a wonderful person. She was very compassionate to me and I enjoyed having sessions.'
